I first became aware of ESSEX CARP BAITS
through my good mate Tony Prayel, who is the fishery manager at Aquatels. I was impressed with what I heard Simon and Andy were trying to achieve. When I went to the unit and met the guys face to face, I realised that they were very genuine. Their main aim is not only to produce quality carp baits with thought and passion but also to provide their customers with a totally personal approach. Because of this, I did not hesitate to say “yes” when Simon asked if I would become part of the team and I have given the guys my full commitment.
I have over 40 years angling experience. I have fished for a variety of species but my main passion has always been Carp. Having two older brothers like Jim and Rick I guess it must be in the genes! I caught my first carp back in the late sixties at Priory Park—which is a venue in Southend.
I have fished large low stocked venues such as Fen Drayton, where I was fortunate enough to catch a couple of its inhabitants. The best being a pristine 38lb common. But I guess I am best known for the “Method” technique that I have used and mastered over the past twelve years. All my captures during this time have fallen this style. These include English carp to 50lb.8oz, Cats to 60lb+, big Tench to 9lb and Bream to 14lb.
The “Method” is an ideal carrier for the products that Essex Carp Baits are producing - and the new ones that are in the pipeline. I will be working closely with the team and I will give honest feed back. I will not put my family name with any product – unless I believe it is genuine — and more importantly, it does exactly what it says on the tin!!!
